Chile's CMF Cancels Cryptocurrency Platform Registrations Over Venezuelan Gang Ties, Money Laundering Concerns

According to Livecoins, Chile's Financial Market Commission (CMF) on June 30 cancelled the registration of cryptocurrency platform Plusspay after it was found to have ties to Venezuelan criminal organization Tren de Aragua and was used to provide financial support to the gang. The CMF also revoked registrations for platforms Pixeltec and Iuinvest for failing to submit complete information as required by the Financial Technology Law. The suspended platforms are prohibited from acquiring new customers and may only conduct liquidation and fund return operations for existing users.
