According to OpenRouter data cited by Guru Club, China’s AI models achieved 7.693 trillion token calls in the week of May 11-17, 1.81 times that of U.S. models’ 4.24 trillion tokens. This marks China’s third consecutive week of dominance in global AI model usage, which totaled 26.9 trillion tokens overall.

Tencent’s Hy3 Preview led all models with 2.66 trillion calls, surging 210% week-over-week. The model took the top spot as its free trial period ended and the paid version officially launched.
