CME Energy and Precious Metals Show Mixed Signals on June 10 as Brent Crude Cools

According to Jin10, on June 10, CME data showed gold trading volume increased 64,627 contracts to 225,114 while open interest rose 4,499 to 337,208 hand. Silver volume climbed 7,669 to 86,834 contracts with open interest up 2,584 to 106,024. WTI crude oil volume surged 18,349 to 943,979 contracts and open interest increased 4,442 to 2,011,077. Natural gas volume jumped 57,358 to 538,178 contracts.

By contrast, Brent crude oil trading volume declined 6,768 contracts to 146,318, while open interest fell 836 to 250,605 hand. Copper showed mixed signals with volume up 11,617 to 101,752 but open interest down 3,086 to 271,245.
