Databricks Acquires Panther, Launches Four AI Products on June 16

According to Databricks, the company on June 16 unveiled four new AI products and agreed to acquire Panther, a cloud-native security platform. The new products include Genie One for business task automation, Lakehouse//RT for real-time data analysis, Lakehouse Transactional and Analytical Processing, and CustomerLake, an agentic customer data platform for identity resolution and campaign automation.

Panther, valued at $1.4 billion in 2021, provides threat monitoring, detection, and response capabilities. The acquisition expands Databricks' presence in enterprise AI, real-time data, and security. Databricks serves over 20,000 organizations worldwide and is valued at $134 billion.
