Elon Musk Reverses Stance on Anthropic After SpaceX GPU Deal, Calls It AI Leader

According to Beating, Elon Musk publicly reversed his earlier criticism of Anthropic in July, calling it the AI industry leader and acknowledging he was wrong about the company. No other company has released better models than Anthropic's Mythos and Fable, Musk stated.

The shift followed a May commercial deal in which Anthropic leased SpaceX's Colossus 1 data center, gaining access to over 220,000 Nvidia GPUs. Musk said he spent considerable time engaging with Anthropic's leadership and found them "highly capable" and genuinely committed to doing the right thing. In February and March, Musk had publicly criticized Anthropic as "anti-human and evil," alleging biased AI models and data theft.
