Energy Supply Through Hormuz Strait to Recover to 80% by Q3 2026, Says Macroeconomic Research

NG-2.01%
According to Macroeconomic Research chief economist Neil Shearing, energy supply through the Hormuz Strait is expected to recover to approximately 80% of pre-disruption levels by the end of Q3 2026. Oil supply recovery will lag due to tanker repositioning requirements, production facilities needing to reach full capacity, and persistent insurance cost concerns. Natural gas recovery will be slower, with Iran's strikes on Qatari facilities causing about 17% of production capacity to go offline.
