According to Bits.media citing data from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), as of June 29, the European Union had granted 244 MiCA licenses to crypto firms, with Germany leading at 57 licenses (23%) and France second with 26 licenses (11%).
Greece, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, and Romania have issued no MiCA licenses to date. France accelerated its approval pace significantly: between June 18–22, it granted 5 licenses, accounting for nearly half of the 11 licenses issued across the EU during that week. MiCA requires crypto firms to obtain a license in at least one EU member state by July 1 to legally serve the bloc's 27 markets.
