Gate Europe CEO Warns MiCA-Licensed Crypto Firms Could Exit EU Market as Compliance Costs Mount

According to Gate Europe CEO Giovanni Cunti on Monday, MiCA-licensed crypto firms could still exit the European Union market as compliance costs continue to rise. Cunti told Cointelegraph that stricter regulatory requirements have made it increasingly difficult for companies to sustain operations under the framework long-term. He noted that some licensed firms may lack the resources to absorb ongoing costs. The European Securities and Markets Authority's register now includes 294 authorized crypto-asset service providers following the July 1 MiCA transition deadline.
