Gate News message, April 21 — Huawei launched its first AI glasses in China, marking a renewed push into the fast-growing smart eyewear market. The 35.5-gram glasses feature an in-house chip and support voice interaction, video calls, livestreaming, calorie tracking, and QR code payments.
Global AI glasses shipments jumped 322% to 8.7 million units in 2025, with Meta holding 85% market share (7.4 million units shipped). China’s smart eyewear shipments rose 35-fold that year, capturing 10.9% of the global market with nearly 1 million units, making it the second-largest market by volume after the United States. China also produces 80% of the world’s AI glasses, with Chinese brands holding 71% of display-equipped glasses shipments.
