Humanoid Robots Enter Labor Replacement Inflection Point, Amazon Plans to Cut Hundreds of Thousands of Positions: Serenity

According to PANews, on July 4, investor Serenity stated that humanoid robots are entering a critical inflection point for large-scale replacement of human labor. Serenity noted that AI capabilities have undergone qualitative leaps over the past three years, with systems like Mythos now possessing "weapon-grade" cybersecurity capabilities. Though current humanoid robots cannot yet independently complete complex tasks such as pipe maintenance and electrical work, the technological direction is clear and breakthroughs are expected in coming years. Major tech companies and venture capital firms are adjusting strategies to deploy robots for cutting operational costs; Amazon is reportedly planning to reduce hiring by hundreds of thousands of positions through robot deployment. Serenity highlighted that healthcare, ultra-specialized roles, and service industries dependent on emotional interaction face relatively lower automation impact, but overall global labor structure restructuring remains inevitable. As U.S.-China technology competition intensifies, humanoid robotics is evolving into a nation-level technological race, with China already holding leading positions in certain subsectors.
