Iran's Military Spokesman Claims Control of Strait of Hormuz, Accuses U.S. of Violating Memorandum

According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, Iranian military spokesperson Akraminia stated on Sunday that Iran controls maritime traffic management in the Strait of Hormuz under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. He accused the U.S. of imposing an unauthorized shipping lane in the southern strait, violating the agreement's commitments.

Akraminia warned that each U.S. action against Iranian islands, coastal areas, or facilities has received a decisive response, citing a Saturday evening U.S. operation that was immediately retaliated against. He stated that Iran's armed forces have maintained military readiness around any ceasefire period and continue updating operational plans for various scenarios.
