Iraq Denies Israeli Military Base Claims on May 12

According to Iraq’s Defense Ministry statement released on May 12, Iraq’s Army Chief of Staff al-Zara’a toured a desert region in central-southern Iraq and rejected media claims of unauthorized foreign military presence. Al-Zara’a stated the allegations lacked factual basis and no evidence supported such claims. Iraq reiterated it would not serve as a platform for aggression against neighboring countries.
