Israel Considers Small-Scale Withdrawal from Southern Lebanon, Talks with U.S. Ongoing

According to Israel's Channel 12, Israel is considering a "small-scale withdrawal" from southern Lebanon following diplomatic consultations over the past 24 hours, the outlet reported on June 21 evening. Israeli political and security officials have held a series of meetings while maintaining multi-level communication with the United States. According to senior officials cited in the report, Israel has not received any formal U.S. request for military withdrawal from southern Lebanon, but is studying a potential pullback from areas outside the "Blue Line" currently under Israeli control. The report noted that as U.S. pressure increases, the likelihood of Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon is rising; however, Israel has emphasized that maintaining presence within the "Blue Line" remains a "red line."
