According to Lebanon's Culture Minister Ghassan Salame on May 29, Israeli airstrikes have endangered cultural heritage sites in southern Lebanon. Missiles struck near the UNESCO World Heritage site of Tyre and directly hit the medieval Beaufort Castle overlooking Nabatiyeh, placing Lebanese cultural monuments in serious danger, Salame said.
