Japan Raises Visa Fees to 5x Current Levels, Effective July 1

According to Kan Kan News, Japan's cabinet formally approved on June 19 raising visa application fees for foreign nationals, effective from July 1, 2026. Single-entry visas will increase from 3,000 yen to 15,000 yen, while multiple-entry visas will rise from 6,000 yen to 30,000 yen—representing a five-fold hike across both categories.
