According to JPMorgan Securities, the bank raised its year-end target for the Nikkei 225 index to 75,000 points from 70,000 points, citing expectations of artificial intelligence-driven gains and corporate reform momentum. The Tokyo Stock Exchange index (Topix) target was also upgraded to 4,400 points from 4,300 points. JPMorgan expects second-half tailwinds from the AI semiconductor cycle and balance sheet improvements to offset headwinds from potential interest rate hikes and geopolitical risks.
