King Charles Urged Ukraine Support; Putin Media Falsely Claims War Call

CryptoFrontier

King Charles III addressed the US Congress on 29 April 2026, urging strong support for Ukraine in the name of peace. However, Vladimir Putin’s propaganda machine distorted his remarks to falsely claim the monarch was calling for NATO to prepare for war with Russia, according to the article.

King Charles’s Actual Remarks

In his address to Congress, Charles III made no mention of Russia by name. Instead, he called for robust support for Ukraine to secure peace. The monarch emphasized how America and Britain had stood “for more than a century, shoulder to shoulder, through two World Wars, the Cold War, Afghanistan and moments that have defined our shared security.”

“Today, Mr. Speaker, that same, unyielding resolve is needed for the defence of Ukraine and her most courageous people – in order to secure a truly just and lasting peace,” he added.

Russian Propaganda Distortions

Russian state media outlets reinterpreted Charles’s remarks as a call for World War Three. Komsomolskaya Pravda, Putin’s favoured publication, claimed: “Charles called on the US to prepare for war with Russia and activate Article 5 of NATO.” Moskovsky Komsomolets alleged the king advocated “preparing for war with Russia.”

The Russian defence ministry’s television channel Zvezda ran an online piece headlined: “British king urged the US to prepare for war with Russia.”

Military Analyst and Extremist Commentary

Military analyst Aleksei Zhivov accused Charles of advocating “a unified Western defence of Ukraine, and de facto for war with Russia.” Zhivov alleged the monarch’s remarks demonstrated that Britain “continues to drag the ‘global democrats’ into a major conflict with Russia - and it will achieve its goal.”

Zhivov further claimed: “A major war with the West awaits us, and the longer we delay, the more difficult the entry conditions will be, and the less public opinion will accept this war. We need to deal with Ukraine now, while Europe is not yet ready for a long war with us.”

Pro-Putin extremist broadcaster Tsargrad echoed a comparable narrative, stating: “Charles III delivered an openly militaristic speech to the US Congress. The monarch called on the American government to prepare for war with Russia to defend Ukraine and ‘its courageous people’. For added effect, he reminded the congressmen how the British and Americans had fought shoulder to shoulder in two world wars, the Cold War, and Afghanistan. Congress responded with a thunderous ovation.”

Tsargrad concluded: “The British Crown is still trying to get ahead of the game in whipping up Russophobic war hysteria.”

Additional Conspiracy Theories

Russian state media conflict correspondent Andrey Rudenko reiterated the false claim that Charles “called on America to prepare for war with Russia.” Rudenko alleged: “This Satanist [Charles] is calling for preparation for the main attack. All these years, they’ve been weakening us with the war in Ukraine, and when they realise we’re sufficiently weakened, they’ll attack us like jackals from all sides.”

War channel Two Majors alleged Charles travelled to Congress to “apologise” for Britain’s failure to assist Donald Trump with the Iran conflict, but also to seek American support against Russia. The channel stated: “The costumed clown [Charles], calling himself a king, even endured the humiliation of the huckster Trump (who, in a breach of etiquette, patted the old man on the shoulder like a poor wretch) so that he could implore the US elite to support the European military alliance in the war against Russia.”

Nevolfovich Telegram channel drew a historical parallel, writing: “1946. Winston Churchill’s speech in Fulton, California, marked the beginning of the Cold War. 2026. Charles III openly called for preparations for war with Russia in the US Congress. The British monarch received a standing ovation.”

Charles's translation of "peace" as "war" should be reconsidered; the translation quality needs improvement.
