According to South Korea's Korea Exchange, KOSDAQ fell 13.47% between June 10 and July 10, significantly underperforming KOSPI, which declined only 7.67% over the same period. Year-to-date, the disparity widened further, with KOSDAQ down 9.51% while KOSPI surged 77.40%.
As KOSDAQ weakness persisted, inverse ETFs betting on KOSDAQ's decline posted double-digit gains. KIWOOM KOSDAQ 150 Futures Inverse ETF rose 11.63% over the past month, while KODEX and RISE variants gained 11.38% each, and TIGER KOSDAQ 150 Futures Inverse ETF gained 10.43%.
