Gate News message, April 17 — A 10-day ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel took effect on April 17, marking part of Washington’s broader efforts to reach a deal aimed at ending the conflict with Iran. The Lebanese military has warned of multiple ceasefire violations already occurring.

China’s Foreign Ministry welcomed the ceasefire agreement, stating that Beijing supports all efforts conducive to ending the conflict. A Foreign Ministry spokesperson called on relevant parties to maintain ceasefire momentum and pursue negotiations with a sense of responsibility, resolving disputes through political and diplomatic channels.
