Mexico Records $4.52 Billion Trade Surplus in April, Exports Up 32.6% Year-Over-Year

According to Jin10, Mexico recorded a $4.52 billion trade surplus in April, with exports up 32.6% year-over-year to $72.04 billion and imports rising 24.1% to $67.52 billion, according to data released by Mexico's National Statistics Institute (Inegi) on Monday.

Petroleum exports surged 7.9% to $2.05 billion, driven by higher crude prices; Mexico's average oil export price reached $94.99 per barrel in April versus $61.01 per barrel a year earlier, though export volumes declined from 726,000 barrels per day to 478,000 barrels per day. Manufactured goods exports grew 34% to $65.69 billion, while mineral product exports jumped 71% to $2.08 billion.
