Microsoft Uses Copilot to Link Amadey and StealC Malware, Files Combined RICO Lawsuit

According to Beat Dynamics, Microsoft's Digital Crimes Unit (DCU) deployed artificial intelligence tools including Copilot to analyze malicious code from Amadey and StealC, revealing they shared the same digital infrastructure. Amadey is an initial access malware that grants device control, while StealC is an information stealer targeting browsers, cryptocurrency wallets, and email clients. The two malware infected over 140,000 computers globally in early May. By establishing the infrastructure link, Microsoft filed a single civil lawsuit under the U.S. RICO Act against multiple defendants, coordinating with Europol, German Federal Criminal Police, and law enforcement from the Netherlands and Denmark.
