Nanya Plans $6.22 Billion Capital Spending Next Year Amid AI Boom, Q2 Revenue Up 684%

According to Reuters, Nanya Technology announced on July 10 plans for more than US$6.22 billion in capital spending next year to ramp up a new memory chip plant as AI-driven demand boosts the market. The Taiwanese chipmaker will focus on high-bandwidth memory products for customized AI devices.

Nanya reported second-quarter revenue of US$2.57 billion, up 684% year-on-year, with net income rising 1,324% to US$1.56 billion. The new fab is set to reach 30,000 wafers per month in 2028, expanding to 45,000 at full capacity.
