Nasdaq Falls 0.56% at Market Open; Chip Stocks Decline

U.S. stock markets opened lower on May 19, with the Nasdaq falling 0.56%, the S&P 500 declining 0.45%, and the Dow Jones down 0.43%. Chip stocks led the selloff, with Western Digital, SanDisk, and Seagate Technology dropping over 3%, while Intel, Micron, Qualcomm, Applied Materials, ARM, AMD, Broadcom, and TSMC fell more than 2%.
