Pump.fun, a Solana-based memecoin launchpad, introduced its GO bounty feature in early June, allowing users to create tasks and lock cryptocurrency rewards in escrow for participants who submit proof of completion. According to reports, the platform has paid out more than $370,000 since launch, with hundreds of open bounties remaining available.
Users have posted tasks involving public humiliation, tattoos, workplace confrontations and risky stunts. Reported bounties include placing a face in a toilet, quitting a job on camera and getting crypto-themed tattoos; one widely cited case involved a man in the Philippines reportedly receiving $15,000 after tattooing "bounty.fun" on his forehead. Critics argue the feature pressures economically vulnerable users into performing dangerous or degrading acts for small payouts, while Pump.fun acts as an intermediary by holding funds and reviewing submissions. The controversy has revived concerns about product design that prioritizes viral attention over user safety and legal compliance.
