GateNews

According to Jin Ten Data, Qatar Prime Minister Muhammad and Iran Foreign Minister Araghchi held a telephone call on May 10 to discuss the regional situation. Muhammad emphasized Qatar’s full support for mediation efforts aimed at ending regional crises and called on relevant parties to respond positively and create favorable conditions for negotiations to advance, reducing the risk of further escalation.

Muhammad also stressed that freedom of navigation is a fundamental and non-negotiable principle, and that closing or using the Strait of Hormuz as a bargaining chip would only further exacerbate the crisis and harm the fundamental interests of regional nations. He noted such actions could negatively impact global energy and food supplies, international market stability, and global supply chain security.
