Qualcomm in Advanced Talks to Acquire AI Startup Modular for $4 Billion

According to Bloomberg, Qualcomm is in advanced negotiations to acquire AI infrastructure startup Modular for approximately $4 billion valuation, with a deal potentially announced within weeks. Modular, founded in 2022 by LLVM and Swift language creator Chris Lattner and former Google TensorFlow core member Tim Davis, develops the Mojo programming language and MAX inference platform to enable AI models to deploy seamlessly across different hardware chips. The acquisition would strengthen Qualcomm's data center AI capabilities, though neither company has officially commented and negotiations remain subject to change.
