According to South Korean Foreign Ministry, a South Korean oil tanker carrying approximately 2 million barrels of crude oil transited the Strait of Hormuz on May 20. Foreign Minister Cho Hyun stated that the vessel departed the Persian Gulf on May 19 following negotiations with Iranian authorities, marking the first passage by a Korean ship through the strategic waterway since Iran tensions escalated.
