South Korea's Household Mortgage Rate Hits 4.36% in June, Highest Since November 2023

According to data released by the Bank of Korea on July 28, the average mortgage interest rate for household housing loans rose to 4.36% in June, marking the highest level in two years and seven months. The rate climbed 0.04 percentage point from the prior month for the second consecutive monthly increase. Meanwhile, the average interest rate for new bank loans reached 4.31% (up 0.12 points), corporate lending rates rose to 4.27% (up 0.14 points), and new household loans increased to 4.5% (up 0.04 points).
