According to Spanish Health Minister Monica Garcia and WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus at a press conference on May 9, Spain’s government confirmed preparations were complete for evacuation of a hantavirus-affected cruise ship involving 23 countries. The vessel is expected to arrive at Granadilla Port in Tenerife on May 10 at 5:30 a.m. local time, with passengers beginning to disembark around 8 a.m.
