Stablecoins Climb to 60% of On-Ramp Volume in H1 2026, Up from 43%

According to data from Mercuryo, stablecoins climbed from 43% to 60% of on-ramp volume in H1 2026, crossing the majority line in just one half-year period. The growth reflected structural demand amid macro headwinds and risk-off sentiment; USDT and USDC dominated the shift. Notably, 47% of new users made stablecoins their first crypto purchase, up sharply from 33% in H2 2025, signaling that stablecoins are increasingly the primary entry point rather than a secondary tool.
