Status Network to Merge Gas-Free L2 Technology into Linea, Ending Independent Mainnet Plans

LINEA-4.75%
SNT-1.61%

According to ChainCatcher, Status Network announced today that it will merge its gas-free and privacy L2 technology into the Linea ecosystem as a native distribution layer, abandoning plans for an independent mainnet. The merger aims to unify technology roadmaps and consolidate liquidity.

Status Network's deposit vault has closed, with assets migrating to Linea mainnet. Upon Linea mainnet launch, depositors will receive their principal plus accrued earnings, along with proportional rewards totaling 20 million SNT and 20 million LINEA. A detailed migration timeline and testnet developer guide will be released next week.
