Trump Warns Iran Deal Must Be Signed Within 60 Days or Bombing Will Resume

At the closing of the G7 Summit today, US President Trump warned that if a memorandum of understanding with Iran is not signed within 60 days, the military option will be reconsidered and "the bombing will resume." Trump described the agreement as a "very strong deal" and stated that the Strait of Hormuz would soon be fully reopened.

According to sources close to the matter, the parties are discussing signing the agreement remotely as early as Wednesday, with formal talks scheduled for Friday in Switzerland. Trump said he believes Iranian leaders will "behave very differently" going forward, but cautioned that failure to finalize the deal within the 60-day window would necessitate military action.
