According to Wall Street Journal, UK AI chip startup Fractile announced completion of $220 million Series B funding on May 14, led by Factorial Funds, Accel, and Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund. Founded in 2022 by Oxford-trained engineer Walter Goodwin, the company develops AI inference chips designed to improve the speed of large language model responses. Fractile stated its chip and memory architecture aims to reduce latency while improving bandwidth efficiency.
