Ukrainian Former Police Officers Extort Crypto Entrepreneur for $2.2 Million on May 30

According to Decrypt, on May 30, Ukrainian former police officers kidnapped a crypto entrepreneur and extorted approximately $2.2 million through violence, intimidation, and false debt claims. The Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office said the criminal group targeted at least four victims, using law enforcement methods, official vehicles, and impersonation of police to commit the crimes. The group consists of four former police officers and one previously convicted civilian. The pre-trial investigation has been completed, though the suspects have not yet been formally charged.
