According to the U.S. Department of Commerce on June 27, the United States eased restrictions on trusted partners' access to Anthropic's Mythos 5 AI model. The move resolves tensions between Anthropic and the U.S. government, which previously invoked national security concerns to restrict foreign citizens' access to both Fable 5 and Mythos 5. The Friday letter made no mention of adjustments to Fable 5 restrictions. "In just two weeks, we worked hard to ensure the U.S. remains a leader in global AI while maintaining national security," said Department of Commerce spokesperson Benno Kass.
