U.S. Military Destroys Iranian Revolutionary Guard Surveillance Tower at Kharanq Port on July 16

According to the U.S. Central Command, on July 16, the U.S. military destroyed a maritime surveillance tower at Kharanq port operated by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The tower was part of a surveillance network used for decades to track and target merchant vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. military said the strike degrades the IRGC's ability to coordinate attacks on civilian shipping and protects freedom of navigation in the region.
