According to Zhongshan City Three Defense Command, Zhongjiao Town recorded 100mm of rainfall in three hours on May 20, with heavy rain expected to persist. The city's meteorological bureau upgraded the rainstorm warning to red alert at 6:29 a.m., affecting eight districts including Xiaolan, Huangpu, Nantou, Dongfeng, Fusha, Banfu, Dayong, and Zhongjiao towns, with the remaining areas remaining under orange alert.
