The team is led by former Scale AI CEO Alexandr Wang and former GitHub CEO Nat Friedman.
Meta’s poaching of researchers from competitors has sparked anger at OpenAI. Research director Mark Chen described it as “breaking and entering” and “theft of property.” He insisted that OpenAI is not standing idly by. In response, OpenAI gave employees a week off to recover from the rumors of the talent war.
