According to Li Chao, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission's Policy Research Office, on May 22, China ensured stable domestic fertilizer supply and prices during spring planting amid international market volatility. Domestic urea prices are approximately 3,500 yuan per ton lower than international market prices. The NDRC coordinated efforts including securing supply commitments from key enterprises, deploying strategic reserves, and ensuring sulfur supply for phosphate fertilizer production.
The NDRC stated it will continue monitoring agricultural production trends and grain prices, while maintaining coordination on fertilizer supply and price stability to support farmers and agricultural operators.
