According to The Telegraph, on Wednesday, Christopher Harborne, a 12% stakeholder in Tether, gave Nigel Farage a £5 million undisclosed gift in 2024 for security purposes. The payment was structured as a personal gift and was never disclosed under UK campaign finance laws. Harborne, a British billionaire, is also the largest financial backer of Reform UK, the party founded by Farage, having donated roughly £12 million to the party. The disclosure comes weeks after the UK banned crypto donations to political parties, citing concerns over foreign influence and fund origin transparency.
