Emerging Markets Private Credit Sees Record $22.3B Inflows in 2025 as 42% of Institutions Plan Increased Allocation

According to a Gemcorp survey and Global Private Capital Association data, emerging markets private credit attracted $22.3 billion in 2025, a historic high, as institutional investors shift capital away from developed markets facing elevated default risks. The survey of 250 investment decision-makers across 22 countries found that 42% of institutional investors plan to increase emerging markets private credit allocation over the next two years, while the global private credit market stands at approximately $3.5 trillion with emerging markets representing a small portion of current portfolios.
