According to CoinDesk, the Ethereum research forum has introduced a "validator reward redirection" proposal that allows validators to redirect between 0% and 10% of staking rewards to ecosystem infrastructure and public goods funding. If a majority of validators support a specific percentage, that rate becomes mandatory for all validators.
At current staking levels, a 5% to 10% redirection could generate approximately 50,000 to 70,000 ETH annually for ecosystem grants, equivalent to around $120 million. The proposal remains in the discussion phase and has not yet entered formal voting.
