FBI Foils 23-Person Conspiracy Targeting White House on June 17; Five Suspects Arrested

According to FBI Director Kash Patel on June 17, the Federal Bureau of Investigation successfully thwarted a coordinated terror plot against the White House. The conspiracy was originally scheduled to be carried out on June 14 during President Trump's 80th birthday celebration and UFC "Freedom 250" event at the South Lawn, where approximately 4,300 people had gathered, including 1,200 active-duty military personnel.

The three-stage plan involved drone strikes with explosives on buildings surrounding the White House to create mass chaos, followed by sniper teams targeting fleeing crowds funneled into predetermined areas, and finally storming the White House entrance. The plot was discovered after a relative of one of the conspirators alerted authorities. FBI received the lead on June 10 and tracked a covert network operating via Signal encrypted messaging. Twenty-three individuals were identified as involved, with five suspects arrested in Ohio, Missouri, and California.
