Iran Waives Transit Fees for 60 Days, Links Future Strait Agreements to Unfreezing of Frozen Assets

According to Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Saeid Khatibzadeh, Iran will continue providing navigation services in coordination with Oman and under international law. Within the 60-day period specified in the memorandum of understanding, Iran will not charge transit fees. After this period, Iran will introduce a new strait management mechanism to be presented to regional countries. Any future agreement must include the unfreezing of all Iranian frozen assets, Khatibzadeh stated.
