Gate News message, April 23 — Iran’s Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Raisi stated on social media yesterday (April 22) that Iranian armed forces’ military display in the Strait of Hormuz is “a source of pride,” adding that three vessels in violation of regulations were subject to legal measures in the strategic waterway on that day.
Raisi claimed “Americans do not dare to approach the Strait of Hormuz” and referenced the fate of two U.S. destroyers, USS Michael Murphy and USS Peterson. He stated that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has deployed a “swarm” fleet composed of speedboats and unmanned drones around Forur Island, maintaining vigilance against U.S. naval vessels and attempting to employ saturation attack tactics.
The remarks come amid ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States over regional security in the Persian Gulf, one of the world’s most critical shipping routes.
