Lion Group to Invest $12 Million in Indonesian Stablecoin Issuer NBS Via Equity Exchange

According to Foresight News, Nasdaq-listed Lion Group Holding (LGHL) announced a strategic investment of $12 million in PT Nusantara Bumi Sangkara (NBS), an Indonesian digital finance infrastructure company, through an equity exchange arrangement with Meili Capital Management. Lion Group will issue common stock or equity-linked securities and, upon completion, will gain indirect economic rights of 10% in NBS.

NBS is developing NIDR, a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the Indonesian rupiah and backed by secure liquidity reserves, which has received relevant approvals from Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK). The company is advancing custodial arrangements, reserve asset allocation, and system testing to provide low-cost cross-border fund transfers and build digital financial infrastructure integrating blockchain, smart contracts, and AI-based risk controls.
