Meta, Broadcom Back $125M AI Chip Research Hub at UCLA

According to CNBC, Broadcom, Meta, Applied Materials, GlobalFoundries, and Synopsys will jointly fund a $125 million Semiconductor Hub at UCLA Samueli School of Engineering over five years. The hub will support AI chip research and workforce training, with faculty and students collaborating with partner companies on chip design software and manufacturing projects. Doctoral students will receive yearlong internships at the partners to gain hands-on experience.
