Meta Launches Muse Spark 1.1, First Paid AI Model, With API Pricing at a Quarter of OpenAI's Cost

According to Meta, Muse Spark 1.1 launched on July 9, marking the company's first AI model offered to developers on a paid basis. The model features API pricing of $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens—approximately one-quarter the cost of OpenAI and Anthropic's top-tier models.

Muse Spark 1.1 scored 53.3 on the DeepSWE benchmark, placing it on par with GPT-5.4 and Claude Sonnet 5 for programming capabilities. The model offers a 1 million token context window, supports parallel sub-agents for task execution, and ranked fourth on Vals Index. Meta positioned the model as a cost-effective "workhorse" optimized for agent-based workflows, coding, and long-document processing. Early partners include Replit, Box, and Cline.
