According to Yahoo Finance, Meta stock surged 5.9% on Friday, July 10, turning year-to-date gains positive as markets grew optimistic about new revenue opportunities to offset massive AI infrastructure investments.

The company unveiled its Muse Spark 1.1 AI model with aggressive pricing: $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens—significantly lower than Anthropic's Opus 4.8 at $5 and $25 respectively. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also revealed the company is evaluating renting its AI computing capacity to third parties, potentially through cloud infrastructure services similar to AWS or direct chip and server rentals.
