Gate News message, April 29 — Ronin, a gaming blockchain, announced it will migrate to Ethereum Layer 2 on May 12, 2026. The migration will involve approximately 10 hours of downtime on-chain, after which normal operations will resume. The underlying architecture will be built on OP Stack and will integrate EigenDA as the data availability layer. Users are advised to unstake RON before the migration date, or the system will automatically unstake for them after migration completion.

The core objective of this migration is to leverage Ethereum’s security, data availability, and settlement capabilities while introducing mature on-chain gaming infrastructure to the Ethereum ecosystem. Ronin serves as the underlying network for prominent gaming applications including Axie Infinity and Pixels, marking a significant milestone in the ecosystem’s development.

Following the migration, RON’s annual inflation rate will decrease from over 20% to below 1%. The treasury will also gain sustained revenue streams from staking, Sequencer net proceeds, and Marketplace fees (increasing from 0.5% to 1.25%).
